Are you a local filmmaker? Do you have a short film you’d love to see on the big screen?
If the answer was yes, then we want your short films for the third annual Barrington Independent Short Film Festival. We’re looking for films 30 minutes or shorter to screen at the Catlow Theater on May 11th, 2019.
Check out our submission guidelines and send in your film before our deadline on April 25th.
Screening Date: May 11th, 2019.
Submission Deadline: April 25th, 2019 (Films must be RECEIVED by this date to be considered)
How do I submit my film?
If your film meets our requirements, then just download THIS FORM, print it, and mail it in with a copy of your finished film to:
Barrington Independent Short Film Festival
Attn: Tim Troemner
116 W. Main St.
Barrington, IL 60010
Films must be RECEIVED by April 25th, 2018 to be considered.
Films may also be dropped off in person at the Catlow Theater after 4PM daily.
What are the requirements for submitted films?
Films must be no longer than 30 minutes in length. This duration includes opening and closing credits.
All films must be submitted as a supported file type. File types we support at this time are Quicktime (.MOV), Apple ProRes 422, and MPEG4 (.MP4).
All films must be submitted as one of the above file types on a flash drive or data DVD. This needs to be mailed with the submission form to Barrington Independent Short Film Festival, Catlow Theater, Attn: Tim Troemner, 116 W. Main St., Barrington, IL 60010.
We also have some preferences for films if possible:
Preferred aspect ratio is 16×9 (or 1.85:1). If your film is in scope (2.39:1), you should have black bars on the top and bottom of your film. If your film is 4×3 (like an old television), you should have bars on the right and left.
As far as resolution, we can support up to 1998 x 1080 pixels.
Preferred frame rate is 23.39 or 24 frames per second. Can we convert 30 fps to play on the big screen? Yes, but fair warning, it might look odd.
When do I know if you’ll be showing my film?
You’ll be notified in early May by email.
